Sia has just shared a new single named ‘Alive’, which was originally intended for Adele. While the latter still has a highly-anticipated album on the way, Sia has decided to keep this power pop anthem for herself – and with good reason. It’s a certified ground-shaker, with Sia’s impassioned crooning stealing the show above a bed of instrumentation. Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr have been named as co-writers of ‘Alive’, which is the first track to be lifted from Sia’s upcoming album This Is Acting. As the title suggests, the record consists of songs that Sia wrote for other artists.
“It’s about Adele’s life, so I now sing a song from Adele’s perspective,” Sia said.
“This is the first song from this new project. I’m calling it This Is Acting because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go into it thinking, ‘This is something I would say’. It’s more like play-acting. It’s fun.” she added.
